Wireframes
During my internship at Herman Miller, I played a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience within the Materials Lab through the creation of detailed User Experience Wireframes. These wireframes were instrumental in outlining the user journey and interaction flow, and through continuous collaboration with cross-functional teams, I ensured alignment with the overall design strategy and business objectives. The iterative process involved incorporating valuable user feedback to refine the wireframes, ultimately contributing to a seamless and intuitive customer experience.
High Fidelity Prototypes
Turning concepts into reality, I translated wireframes into compelling High Fidelity Prototypes, integrating visual design elements and interactive features. Conducting usability tests on these prototypes provided essential insights for refinement, and collaboration with the development team ensured a smooth integration of design elements into the final product.
Brand Identity
In the realm of Brand Identity, I developed and maintained a cohesive identity for the Materials Lab consistent with Herman Miller's global design standards. This involved designing logos, selecting color schemes, and establishing typography to visually convey the lab's commitment to innovation and design excellence. The resulting brand identity resonated effectively with the target audience, reflecting Herman Miller's core values.
Signage Graphic Design
I crafted impactful and informative signage for the Materials Lab. These designs effectively guided visitors through the space, highlighting key product features while adhering to Herman Miller's design guidelines. The goal was to create visually engaging and easily comprehensible signage that communicated the lab's purpose and offerings.
Furniture Design
My involvement in furniture design allowed me to employ sketching and ideation techniques to conceptualize new furniture designs within the Materials Lab. Collaborating closely with the design team, I ensured the incorporation of ergonomic principles and aesthetic considerations into initial sketches. Presenting these sketches to stakeholders for feedback and refinement fostered a collaborative and iterative design process.
Developing Furniture Design in Prototype Lab
Lastly, in the capacity of developing furniture design in the prototype lab, I actively participated in the creation of furniture prototypes. This involved integrating various materials and design elements, collaborating with craftsmen and artisans to translate design concepts into physical prototypes. Playing a key role in refining prototypes based on user feedback contributed significantly to the enhancement of product customization and overall design quality within the Materials Lab.
